I left Egypt at seventeen to become a vet.
My twin brother did the same, the same year. We both ended up in emergency work, in the UK, sole charge most nights, him first, then me.
I like knowing a case is entirely mine to work out, start to finish, whatever it needs.
It's genuinely a sequence, not a list of jobs I've had.
2015 to 2021

My first year in practice, with someone senior always in the building.
2022 to 2023

Went sole charge: autonomous out-of-hours, no one else to call.
2023 to 2025
Veterinary Hospital of Gorleston
Two years building a real surgical caseload, still sole charge most nights.
2024

Became co-owner of a home-visit emergency practice, alongside the clinical work.
2026 to present
Night work
Moved to nights full-time. Where I am now.
